Making an Impact

Cutting Carbon, not Quality
What is Carbon Offsetting?
Carbon offsetting balances emissions from manufacturing, transportation, and agriculture by funding projects that reduce CO2 or support reforestation. At Georgette Packaging, we purchase carbon credits to neutralize our packaging’s carbon footprint. We prioritize working with transparent programs like Pachama to ensure real environmental impact. Since 2019, we’ve offset not just our packaging but also our employees’ carbon footprints. Through Pachama, we’ve supported projects like the Pacajá Pará project in Brazil, protecting biodiverse habitats from deforestation.
The Pacajá Pará Project
The Pacajá Pará project, located in the Northeast Amazon, is dedicated to preserving over 140,000 hectares of Indigenous rainforest. Through sustainable forest management and reduced impact logging, the project not only combats deforestation but also fosters community development and environmental stewardship.

Empowering Farmers
By promoting the sustainable use of natural resources, the project provides alternative income opportunities for local farmers. Initiatives such as planting cacao on degraded pastures aim to rejuvenate the soil and offer new revenue streams, thereby enhancing farmers' livelihoods.

Advancing Children's Education
The Pacaja Para project contributes to community services, which include supporting educational initiatives for children. By investing in the community, the project helps create a brighter future for the younger generation, ensuring they have access to quality education and opportunities for growth.

Promoting Sustainability
Through sustainable forest management practices, the project serves as an ecological corridor, preserving biodiversity and protecting climate-regulating services in Brazil and South America. These efforts ensure the long-term health of the environment and the communities that depend on it.

Every purchase you make with Georgette Packaging directly supports the Pacajá Pará project, you contribute to meaningful change that uplifts communities and safeguards our planet's future!
